Jeenyus School Invention #8: The Past Candle
Every year, we want that one special present. Some of us want a real live unicorn. Others want a giant swimming pool of vanilla pudding. However, by the next year, most of us have already forgotten that same special present from the year before. That is where the Past Candles come in.
Each year you will now take your time blowing out the candles. For every time you blow out one of the Past Candles, the smoke left behind form an image in the air of you enjoying that special present from that year. For example, the first candle you blow out will show you enjoying your priceless rubber pencil from your first birthday, while your 27th candle will show you hugging your beloved purple power bike from your 27th birthday.

One of my ideas before ever putting Sully P. Snooferpoot into a story with my crazy inventions was to have animals be the inventors. It was kind of fun, but I eventually decided I was not the best at drawing animals. Plus, there was no narrative, just animals with their inventions. Fun, but also a little stale.

As my wife and I were trying to figure out what to do with all of the inventions I have made up (over 150 now). One of the ideas was to write a Shel Silverstein type poew for each one. The first poem my wofe wrote involved a pup. This was my quick attempt. By the way, those 150 inventions are now being explored 1 at a time through my Sully P. Snooferpoot picture book series!

The Ugly fish Drawing I Love From My Third Picture Book!
No idea why, but I really liked this ugly fish from my third book. I think his ugly spots just brought it home for me. At the moment, the verdict is out as to weather he will be in the book or not. Most people, including myself, like his part in the book, but others are not so sure.
Here is the same illustration without the color background. Which do you prefer?
Depending on the time of day, I can like either one! I think I like with color better overall. Once my color artist is done, it will all be colored by the time the book is released. Should be neat to see then.
